The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, along with the MSP Wakefield Post, is announcing the arrest of Jason Elliott Irvine, 47 of Ironwood, following an investigation into his online activity.
The investigation began when a Tumblr user reported suspicious activity displayed on a Tumblr account to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Evidence was obtained which led investigators to obtain a search warrant for Irvine’s residence.
A search warrant was executed on Irvine’s residence on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Digital evidence was located revealing Irvine had engaged in criminal sexual conduct first degree with a minor child.
Irvine was charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct and was arraigned on Sept. 7. Bond was set in the amount of $100,000 and he remains in custody.
