Special Olympics Michigan is seeking a new volunteer Area Director for Ontonagon, and Gogebic Counties (Area 39).
We are looking for an energetic, organized person with adequate time to do the job that works well with volunteers and has good communication skills. You need to have enthusiasm for working with persons with intellectual disabilities. You need to build a working Area Management Team to assist with the fundraising, competition, training parent family, financial, medical as well as outreach for the program.
The Area Director’s primary responsibility is to provide year-round sports training and competition at the area level. They need organizational, administrative abilities and have the ability to exercise good judgment.
