Police have made an arrest from an incident that happened almost a year ago when a car crashed into a home in Marquette.
Marquette County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at 12:17 a.m. on September 8, 2017 that a vehicle crashing into a house on the 600 block of Union Street in the City of Marquette.
Through investigation it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen from a residence on Van Evera Ave. Both the residence and the stolen vehicle sustained major damage.
Blood evidence from a possible suspect was collected from the scene as well as witness statements indicating a possible suspect. DNA analysis from the suspect was a match to the blood left at the scene.
A warrant out of the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office was issued for 20-year-old Grand Haven, MI resident Brock Anton Stenfors for Motor Vehicle – Unlawful Driving Away and Failure to Stop at Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.
Stenfors was arrested by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, where he later posted bond. He was arraigned July 30, 2018 in the 96th District Court in Marquette.
