The Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District (DSISD) Board of Education is seeking qualified candidates for the DSISD School Board.
The six year terms of incumbents Michelle Denkins, Joan Ecclesine, Shanna Hammond and 4 years of a remainder of a 6 year term currently filled by David Bosilovatz are up for election. The 4 incumbents are able to run for the seats.
A representative from the Bark River Harris, Big Bay de Noc, Escanaba, Gladstone, Manistique, Mid Peninsula and Rapid River School Boards will vote for the candidate designated by their School Board on June 2, 2025. The DSISD School Board is made up of representatives from the school districts within the DSISD service area, with no more than 2 representatives from the same district serving on the Board at the same time.
The Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Board of Education members serve on various committees including finance, personnel and curriculum, negotiations and policy, legislative relations, and building and grounds committees. Board members also represent the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD at the State and local level through the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) and the Delta-Schoolcraft Association of School Boards. Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Board meetings are held in the evenings, on the second Thursday of each month.
Area residents interested in becoming candidates may obtain nominating petitions at the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD superintendent’s office, 2525 Third Avenue South, Escanaba or at the Delta County Clerk’s office, 310 Ludington Street, Escanaba. A $100.00 filing fee may be paid in lieu of circulating petitions.
