A traffic stop conducted by Michigan State Police (MSP) Gladstone Post troopers resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man from Rock, Michigan for his outstanding warrants, possession of methamphetamine, and bringing contraband into a jail. This arrest marks the fifth person arrested for felony drug offenses resulting from MSP Gladstone’s patrol efforts in Delta County within the past week.
On January 8, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., troopers from the Gladstone Post observed a vehicle traveling on S. Lincoln Road in Escanaba. The troopers observed a vehicle violation and completed a traffic stop. Their ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the vehicle’s passenger, Brian Johnson, due to the outstanding warrants for his arrest.
After his arrest, he was transported to the Delta County Jail where it was discovered that Johnson had suspected methamphetamine concealed on his person. Johnson was lodged in the Delta County Jail and was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and bringing contraband into a jail.
Johnson was arraigned on January 9, 2025, in the 94th District Court. His bond was set at $1,500. He is due next in court on January 30, 2025. Johnson is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
