A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for almost all of the Upper Peninsula on Thursday, with heavy snow and high winds cxausing terrible travel conditions and closing schools across the region. Northern Michigan University cancelled classes for the first time this winter,
NMU Urgent: NMU will be closed today, due to inclement weather. 12/5/2024. Check your email for further details. The Dome, PEIF and Fitzone are also closed.
When the university closes for inclement weather, it will now close for the entire day (including evening). If a decision is made to close campus and cancel classes, it is done prior to 6 a.m. If the university initially opens that day, but later needs to close for inclement weather, the university will close for the remainder of that day.
