Bay College and the Norse Athletic Department has released the events for Family Weekend scheduled for November 1st and 2nd.
The event is scheduled in conjunction with the Terrace Bay Hotel Tip-Off Classic hosted by the Norse Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams that will feature eight games in two days. Things kick off on Friday when Rock Valley College and Alpena Community College square off. The women’s game is scheduled for a 2 pm tip, while the men will follow at approximately 4 pm.
During that time the Bay College Admissions Department will be offering campus tours to anyone interested in seeing campus in more detail. Interested parties can meet at the information desk located in student services.
Also on Friday, the Campus Activities Board will be hosting their annual Laser Tag event from 4 pm to 8 pm. Laser Tag is free to Bay students and five dollars for additional tickets and will be held in Joseph Heirman University Center Room 952.
With space up to 20 players per session, tickets are free for Bay College students, or $5 for the general public. Each ticket allows a one-hour time block, which includes approximately 40 minutes of game time. Laser Tag is open to all ages, but it’s recommended for participants 7 years and older.
The event will run from 4:00pm ET to 8:00pm ET on Friday, November 1, and from 10:00am to 2:00pm ET on Saturday, November 2.
Now in its ninth year, proceeds from the event will support Bay College student organizations and athletic teams that help make the event possible.
The evening culminates in the first games of the season for the Norse basketball teams. Bay College Women will face Jackson College at 6 pm. Both teams received votes in the NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll. The number 14 ranked Norse Men will start their campaign against Minnesota North-Hibbing at 8 pm.
The night ends with a Norse Family Social hosted by Solberg’s Buck Inn. A limited menu and full bar will be available after the conclusion of the men’s game.
Saturday’s action begins with more basketball at 10 am when Jackson College and Alpena Community College women’s teams meet in the Bay College Gymnasium. The early round of games also features Minnesota North-Hibbing and Alpena Community College in men’s basketball action.
Saturday morning is a second chance to participate in laser tag. Times will run from 10 am to 2 pm with Bay College students once again getting free admission, while additional tickets cost five dollars.
Fans are also invited to attend the tailgate party on Saturday in parking lot c on campus. From 12pm to 2 pm Wiles Food Service will be serving food while Radio Results Network will entertain participants with the RRN Mobile Boom Box and prize wheel.
At 2 pm the basketball action heats up as the Norse Women faceoff with #6 Rock Valley College. The #14 ranked Norse Men then will end the weekend with their showdown against Rock Valley.
