The annual Waterfront Art Show happens this Saturday in Escanaba, sponsored by the Bonifas Arts Center.
Heather Grimes is Event Coordinator at the Bonifas. She tells RRN News that it’s a festive event, which has been going on for 53 years. She adds that young arists will be a big part of this year’s show. Grimes says there will also be food and music, and some of the artists will be selling their works durinf the event.
The Escanaba City Band will perform between 11:00 and noon, and the Morski family will again perform folk music at 12:15. A Minnesota folk artist, Drew Peterson, will perform from 2 until 4. He has performed in Escanaba many times over the years.
“It brings a whole sense of good, wholesome family fun, down to our park for the day.” Grimes said. “We love to see all the happy faces. Kids are playing with the balloons. They’re playing with the bubbles. Just enjoying the day down there.”
The event is set for this Saturday from 10 a.m. untll 4 pm, near Ludington Park’s Karas Bandshell.
