There’s apparently some bad blood between Dickinson County Hospital and its former suitor, Bellin Health of Green Bay.
Following local media articles that Dickinson spokesman Joe Rizzo termed “patently false,” the hospital released an official statement on Friday. The statement says Bellin has attempted to recruit four Dickinson surgeons and has terminated a lab and diagnostics agreement with D-C-H-S. The latter move, says Rizzo, has led to a loss of jobs at the hospital. Bellin had sought to buy the Iron Mountain facility, but talks fell through over financial concerns. The hospital now seeking to sell its assets to LifePoint Health—which owns U-P Health Systems Marquette.
