The Alger County Conservation District has opened its Tree and Shrub sale process.
Conservation District Manager Matt Watkeys tells RRN News that they have a variety of plants, trees, and other items available this spring.
“We have native trees and shrubs for every project you may have,” Watkeys said. “Whether its large-scale reforestation or under-plantings under an established canopy. We also have a lot of wildlife shrubs available that are great for wildlife habitat. We also have a good variety of garden-type plants, like berries, asparagus, rhubarb. And then we also offer w nice variety of fruit trees.”
He says they also have things like birdhouses, feeders, and even playing cards available.
You have plenty of time to order a catalog (or check it out on line), as the deadline to get those forms into the conservation district is April 12. The dates for picking up the trees is Saturday, May 4. Give him a call at (906) 387-2222 or visit the website at www.algercd.com.
