High school and college students are invited to apply to the Student Trainee Intern positions in recreation in Munising (two positions available); and college students are also invited to apply to Student Trainee positions in administration, forestry, and wildlife in Rapid River.
Interning with the Forest Service provides a wide range of benefits including:
- Pay of at least $13.84 per hour
- Valuable experience in natural resource work
- Time spent outdoors.
- Low-cost shared housing may be available.
Further, through the Pathways Intern Indefinite program, college students who do internships in Student Trainee positions may be eligible to be converted to full-time permanent positions when they’ve completed their degree. This program is intended to be developmental in nature and provide the necessary competencies for a permanent position in conjunction with formal education.
Interns will need to comply with program requirements and meet the qualification standards for the position in order to be converted to a permanent position when they’ve completed their degree.
