CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH SCOTT BREAULT, BAY COLLEGE
Bay College has announced the fall 2023 concert series line-up, and it all starts this Thursday night on the Escanaba campus.
The series includes artists: Generations Jazz, The Make-Believe Spurs, Delilah DeWylde, Escanaba City Band, Marquette Symphony Orchestra, and Switchback.
The first of the concerts is this Thursday, Sept. 14, with “Generations Jazz”.
“We are super-pumped to bring them in,” Bay College Events Coordinator Scott Breault told RRN News. “They are a father-daughter out of Marquette. Ryan Dart plays the guitar, and his young daughter sings past hits from the ’50s and 60s. They’re bringing along a bass player. It’s a step back in time. It’s super-exciting.”
Breault says all of the musicians, combined, makes for an interesting series, covering multiple genres.
“We’re always looking for something unique,” Breault said. “Something maybe a little different that we can expose people to that they haven’t been exposed to before. A little bit of culture, something a little bit out of the ordinary. Also, being a community college, we like to bring in local talent. We’re just very blessed to have a lot of talent locally.”
The concerts are all held in the Besse Center on the Escanaba campus, which Breault says is a perfect venue.
“There’s not a bad seat in the house,” Breault said. “The way that it’s laid out, it’s very acoustically-pleasing. It’s almost like everybody has a front seat.”
The concerts all begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15 per concert for adults for Thursday’s concert, and for both in October, and the K-to-Bay students are charged $7. Tickets are on sale now at www.baycollege.tix.com, or at the Bay College Box Office.
