The Michigan Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Tudor Dixon for governor in the Nov. 8 general election.
“The multitude of challenges facing our state’s job providers and impacting our economy warrant a new direction – that’s why we believe Tudor Dixon is the best choice to lead Michigan for the next four years, ” said Jim Holcomb, president & CEO. “Tudor is a champion of free enterprise and has demonstrated a clear commitment to practical problem solving and building a stronger Michigan that works for businesses, communities and families alike.”
Wendy Block, VP of Business Advocacy and Member Engagement, added: “Tudor Dixon has earned the Michigan Chamber’s endorsement. A vote for Tudor is a vote for helping our state continue to rebound, adapt and move forward. At the same time, we have an unwavering commitment to working with our elected leaders from both sides of the aisle to move Michigan forward.”
“I’m thrilled the Michigan Chamber embraces my vision for a Michigan with less regulation, less government interference in business, and not picking winners and losers, as some other organizations seek to do,” Dixon said. “I welcome a partnership with the Chamber and other business organizations that embrace free markets, limited government, and the ability for businesses of all sizes to grow and prosper in our state.”
Holcomb reiterated a call for – and commitment to – pragmatic problem solving and civility.
“Elections can be rough and tumble, but after Nov. 8, it’s incumbent upon us all to put the campaign season behind us and work cooperatively to grow a robust, resilient economy that works for everyone,” he concluded.
All Chamber endorsements are made by the organization’s PAC Board, comprised of member businesses and organizations from across the state. The Dixon endorsement comes after candidate interviews, listening to Chamber members, a detailed evaluation of the candidates’ positions on key business and economic issues impacting Michigan Chamber members and the state’s job providers, as well as the candidates’ approach to governing and motivation to run for office.
