The Superior Watershed Partnership will be doing a series of events this summer to do what it can to battle climate change in the U.P.
The first is this Friday afternoon, where volunteers will work on coastal restoration by planting beach grass at several locations along the Lake Superior shoreline.
You can meet at McCarty’s Cove at 1:00 Friday afternoon to help out. They plan further “second-Friday” events throughout the summer.
The group says that beach grass helps to keep sand from blowing away, which protects the shoreline from erosion.
