Rain on Friday Night forced the cancellation of the Stock Car Races at Eagle River Speedway this past Friday Night. However the staff and racers didnt give up to Mother Nature without a valiant fight.
The rain hit the Eagle River Area around 5:30 pm and ended at approximately 6:00. While it was a substantial amount of rain, the skies to the West appeared to make it possible to still get the races in. The Eagle River Speedway staff immediately began packing the track, along with the good turnout of racers.
For over an hour the racers and staff continued to pack the track. The fans had the patience to sit out the long delay. It was after over an hour of trying to get the track in safe enough condition, the racers agreed that the track was simply to rough and wet to race.
The fans were given the option to use their gate entrance for this coming Friday Nights Cow Bell Street Stock series race, or to get a refund.

We gave it a valiant effort to get the races in, but the racers didnt feel the track set up good enough to compete safely, concluded James Koga, Eagle River Speedway Promoter. However the fans are going to be treated to a great night of racing this Friday Night with the Cow Bell Street Stock series.
