A man simply known as”Coach” to a generation of Gladstone High School students is being remembered this afternoon in Gladstone.
Former athletic director and coach Matt Houle passed away over the weekend at the age of 57. He was also the former executive director for the Delta County YMCA and Special Olympics, and was an Escanaba High School athletic director for a year. But he was best known as Gladstone’s Athletic Director, where he was recognized as the Upper Peninsula Athletic Director of the Year by the MHSAA.
The public is invited to meet the family at the Gladstone High School between 3:00 and 8:00 this afternoon. His funeral is tomorrow.
