Dana Ferguson will face northern Michigan Republican Congressman in the November general election after he won the Democratic primary Tuesday night.
With 93 percent of the precincts reporting early Wednesday throughout the Upper Peninsula and northern lower peninsula, Ferguson, a carpenter from Negaunee, led Linda O’Dell, a former financier from Petoskey, by a 64-36 percent margin (42,354 votes to 23,355 votes)
The Associated Press called the race for Ferguson, paving the way for him to face the incumbent Bergman (R-Watersmeet) in the general election.
Bergman ran unopposed and won the GOP primary on Tuesday.
