The Delta County Prosecutor’s office says that Sirecce Lavance Bonner, 46, of Detroit was sentenced to 23 months to 4 years in prison.
Bonner was sentenced following the entry of a guilty plea to Possession of Narcotics (Cocaine) and two counts of Resisting & Obstructing a Police Officer.
On July 11, 2019, Michigan State Police Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding in the north area of Delta County. The troopers noted that the vehicle took an unusually long time to pull over. The trooper approachd the passenger side of the vehicle and made contact with Bonner.
The trooper saw a large amount of white powder all over the seat, the floorboards, and Bonner himself. Despite asking Bonner to keep his hands still and in view, Bonner kept attempting to reach underneath himself. Another trooper and a Delta County Sheriff’s Office, MI deputy arrived to assist and Bonner was eventually forcibly removed from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the troopers determined that Bonner was attempting to dissolve the white powder in a bottle of lemonade. It was later confirmed by lab test that the white powder was cocaine.
