Michigan State Police troopers from the St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie posts responded to Carmeuse Lime and Stone on M-134 at approximately 1:50 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of an accident.
Upon arrival, police discovered that two Carmeuse vehicles had been involved in an incident in the pit, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Jill Klein from Cedarville.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department and Clark Township Fire/EMS.
