At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, two shoppers will go head-to head to win a $250 cart full of groceries from the Marqeutte Food Co-op in the store’s first ever Co-op Sweep competition.
The contestants, Katie LeClair and Nathan Mapes, made their way through three rounds to secure spots in Tuesday’s final.
In Round 1, they found hidden entry tickets into the competition that were placed throughout the store the first week in October.
They then were high-scorers in Co-op Trivia, a 15-question multiple choice quiz that tested their knowledge of the MFC and the cooperative business model.
In Round 3, they were able to get the fastest times in the Co-op Scavenger Hunt, which sent them out into the store with clues leading to specific products.
On Tuesday, LeClair and Mapes will be given two minutes to run around the store, collecting items from each department.
The participant closest to $250 (without going over) will win the items in their cart.
Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend the Final Round of Co-op Sweep — there will be a designated cheering section in the Co-op Café.
Co-op Sweep is one of the many events and activities put on by the Marquette Food Co-op during Co-op Month, a nationwide celebration of the cooperative business model.
