Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox spent her Sunday in the Upper Peninsula, meeting with local Republicans in Escanaba and Marquette in preparation for the 20-20 election campaign. Cox was in town to rally the grass roots effort to advance the G-O-P ticket from local races all the way to the presidential race.
“I enjoy talking to all of the worker bees of the party,” Cox told RRN News. “These are the people who do all of the work to get Republicans elected up and down the ballot. So, I’m excited to come here, and I think it’s really important for us to get everybody rallied and excited about the election.”
Cox, a former state lawmaker from the Dertroit suburb of Livonia, says that the country will see through the Democrats’ effort to remove President Trump through impeachment, or to at least damage Trump heading into 2020.
“Whether it’s veterans, secure borders, protecting our Great Lakes, the Soo Locks, the economy, the low unemployment, all of those things that have effected you, tax reforms, “ Cox said. “When you go to the ballot box, look of the ‘wins’ that the president has delivered, and how important it is to re-elect our president and keep our country going in the direction it is.”
Cox was joined at the Escanaba event by Judi Schwalbach, a member of the Michigan State GOP Executive Committee, and State rep. Beau LaFave (R-Iron Mountain).
