The City of Escanaba is looking for a new city manager after Patrick Jordan announced that he is resigning and will move to Florida.
The resignation takes effect on December 1st, and Mayor Marc Tall tells the Radio Results Network that the city is accepting resumes now from qualified candidates.
He says that it is an important job and the city is not rushing into finding a replacement.
“We’re planning a lot of work at our sewage treatment plant, updating that facility,” Tall told RRN News. “As well as doing a lot of work on our water lines throughout the community over the next few years, We need somebody to spearhead all of the different departments to keep everything running.
“The manager is needed to keep everything running smoothly and to a great extent, put together a budget for the next fiscal year. That process is not too far away from starting.”
Tall says that the city council will discuss the situation further at its next meeting, and may need to name an interim manager until a permanent one can be hired.
