On Wednesday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 9:24 p.m., the Manistique Public Safety Department was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 914 North River Road in Manistique Township.
They arrived on the scene at approximately 9:39 pm and could see that the entire structure was fully-engulfed with fire. The first arriving units were able to confirm that all four adult occupants exited the residence safely. While a Manistique house fire resulted in a total loss of the home, all residents were able to evacuate safely.
There were no injuries to the occupants, firefighters or support personnel at this incident. The cause of the fire is unknown.
The house, along with most of the residents’ personal belongings, were deemed a total loss.
Manistique Public Safety and the Manistique Volunteer Fire Department were assisted on scene by Manistique EMS, the Hiawatha Township Volunteer Fire Department, Thompson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Doyle Township Volunteer Fire Department, Sault Tribe Police Department, Michigan State Police, Cloverland Electric and SEMCO Energy.
