On Saturday, January 11, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Michigan State Police (MSP) Negaunee Post trooper located a stolen vehicle, along with the suspect, in the parking lot of TJ Maxx in Marquette. MSP had previously been investigating the reported stolen vehicle out of Alger County and had identified the suspect in the case.
After locating the vehicle and suspect, the trooper approached and saw 36-year-old Megan Quattrin of Marquette exit the vehicle and attempt to walk away.
Despite multiple verbal commands to stop, Quattrin continued walking towards the store and refused to comply with the trooper’s commands.
Quattrin then proceeded to re-approach the vehicle and attempted to re-enter the driver’s seat.
The trooper prevented Quattrin from accessing the vehicle and began placing her under arrest. Quattrin physically resisted the trooper. After being secured and placed under arrest, Megan Quattrin was transported to the Marquette County Jail on charges of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer. She was lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
She was arraigned in the 96th District Court on 1/13/25. Her bond was set at $500
She is due in court next on 1/23/25.
The related case involving the motor vehicle theft is being referred to the Marquette County Prosecutor for review. The defendant is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
