The West End Health Foundation (WEHF) hosted a Business After Hours on Weddnesday at the Upper Peninsula Brewing Company in Negaunee.
The West End Health Foundation took this opportunity to award the 2024 Programmatic Grant Recipients. Midtown Bakery catered the food, and the Upper Peninsula Brewing Company provided drinks. The total funding allocated for the Programmatic Grants was $50,000.
“The West End Health Foundation is delighted to provide $50,000 in funding to eight organizations through this year’s Programmatic Grant Cycle. These grants support programs and services that enhance health and wellness throughout the West End,” said Tom Edmark, President of the West End Health Foundation.
The Board of Directors presented the following Programmatic Grants awardees with a check: Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter received $6,500.00 for West End Marquette County Dementia Outreach and Awareness Program; Cancer Care of Marquette County received $10,000.00 for Patient Care Services; Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes received $2,500.00 for Establishing Equity in Western Marquette County’s Girl Scout Leadership Experience; Ishpeming-Negaunee-NICE Community Education Division received $7,500.00 for Adult Basic Education (ABE) & Beyond 26; Room at the Inn received $2,000.00 for Scattered Site Family Emergency Shelter; Northern Lights Child Advocacy Center received $10,000.00 for Triage Response – Child Abuse; The Salvation Army of Marquette County received $5,000.00 for Bridging the Gap; UP Children’s Therapy received $6,500.00 for Summer Speech Therapy Program.
The Board of Directors also took the opportunity to award Marquette County Cares coalition (MC²) $18,423.00 from the 2024 Annual Golf Classic event partnership, which took place in September.
