UP Health System-Marquette has opened its new Medical Office Building at 1400 W. Washington St., Marquette, MI 49855.
This modern facility will house three essential services: Outpatient Behavioral Health, the UP Regional Blood Center, and the UP Bariatric Institute. All offices have moved from the former hospital property on College Ave. and are now open and accepting new patients.
To celebrate this milestone, a ribbon-cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) will be held at 4 pm on Monday, October 14.
“We are thrilled to bring these vital services to a new state-of-the-art facility,” said Tonya Darner, UPHS – Marquette CEO. “This new building reflects our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our community—through both quality patient care and economic development—providing enhanced accessibility and support for all our patients. It’s a beautiful space and we’re happy to be able to finally open our doors to the public.”
The extensive process of revitalizing the former Office Max retail location that had sat vacant for several years started in 2022 and included restoration of the parking lot and building exterior, as well as a complete remodel of the inside to create a modernized space that puts a strong emphasis on the comfort and safety of visiting patients and blood donors.
The Medical Office Building has ample parking and is conveniently located on a main thoroughfare, near several core entry points into the city of Marquette.
