Menominee County Sheriff Mike Holmes reports that at approximately 7:33 AM on Monday, August 5th, the sheriff’s office was notified of an overdue motorcyclist. The individual, a 58-year-old male from Powers, had not been heard from since leaving a Faithorn-area business on Saturday, August 3rd.
Deputies initiated a search for the missing person, utilizing location data from the individual’s cell phone to identify multiple areas of interest. While the search was under way, Menominee County 911 was notified of an accident scene located along County Road 577 in Holmes Township.
Deputies responded to the scene, where they located the motorcycle and deceased operator in a wooded area adjacent to the roadway. The individual was identified as the missing Steven Todd Stauch of Powers. The incident remains under investigation.
