The Northern Michigan Uni versity Center for Rural Health and U.P. WIN Partners have announced another virtual Community Health Worker training session, taking place starting July 16, 2024. Center Director Elise Bur tells RRN News that he cost remains significantly decreased thanks to a U.P. WIN grant. The cost normally is more than $1,600, but ths opportunity costs only $250. She says they have used
“We’ve trained approximately 45 individuals since June 2023 and anticipate more virtual as well as in-person training opportunities will continue through July 2025,” Bur said. She says that these virtual traininbg sessions are more convienient for many of the particpants, who come from all corners of the U.P.
