Registration for this year’s Children’s Summer Reading Program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library” is now open.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library. Participants can register online at www.escanabalibrary.org or by stopping at the library. Children can pick up their Reading Logs at the library beginning on Monday, June 17.
Beginning on Tuesday, June 25, Lunch with the Munch Bunch is back and will meet on the Children’s Room patio at 11:30 a.m. Children should bring a sack lunch.
After lunch, children can enjoy stories in the story room. These lunches go through July 23.
“The Dinosaur Adventure Begins at Your Library” with award-winning paleontologist, author, and storyteller Paleo Joe is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, at 1:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. This program is for all ages and does not require registration.
On Wednesday, July 10, the Michigan Science Center will present two sessions of “Microscopic;” workshops for kids to learn how to use a microscope. Space is limited and registration is required. Register online at www.escanabalibrary.org, or call the library at 906- 789-7323. Session one is for ages 6-10 at 1:00 p.m.
Session two is for ages 11+ at 2:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the City Council Chambers in City Hall.
The Summer Reading Program closes with “Let’s Make Magic together with The Alans!” This event is open to children of all ages and will be held in the City Council Chambers. This presentation is funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
