St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marinette, a key provider of food assistance in Marinette County is proud to announce the opening of its new food pantry location at 2000 Cleveland Avenue, previously the site of Scoops restaurant.
This move represents a significant expansion of St. Vincent de Paul’s (SVdP) capabilities to address food insecurity and support individuals and families in need within the community.
With the demand for food assistance reaching unprecedented levels in recent years, the new, larger facility will enable SVdP to enhance its services and increase its impact. By moving the food pantry out of the thrift store, pantry visitors will experience a more spacious and welcoming environment, expanded service hours, and a return to grocery-style shopping.
“St. Vincent de Paul Marinette is committed to responding to the growing needs of our community,” said Ashley Berken, Executive Director of SVdP. “Our new pantry allows us to meet these needs more effectively and expand our reach to ensure that no one in our area goes hungry. This is a huge step forward in our mission, and we’re excited about the positive changes it brings.”
The relocation is a testament to the sustained effort and support from donors, volunteers, and the community. SVdP has been a pillar of support for those facing hunger, and this move will further enhance its ability to deliver critical services.
As SVdP transitions to the new facility, the organization continues to seek the community’s support. Donations are crucial to fund the ongoing operations and to ensure the pantry can fully utilize its increased capacity to serve. The community is encouraged to contribute to this vital cause, helping to make a difference in the lives of those who rely on the pantry for support.
Contributions to support SVdP and its mission can be made at svdpmarinette.com or by mailing to PO Box 1111, Marinette, WI 54143. Every donation, large or small, plays a critical role in the fight against hunger in Marinette, Menominee, and Oconto Counties.
While the food pantry will be relocating, please note, that the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store located in Downtown Marinette will not be moving. The thrift store will be expanding into the food pantry space later this year.
