CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH MARQUETTE POLICE CHIEF RYAN GRIM
A New Year’s tradition will be renewed Sunday night in Marquette, with the annual ball drop at the corner of Front and Washington Streets.
The event brings thousands of people to the downtown area, with local bars, restaurants, and other businesses enjoying the extra foot traffic.
Marquette City Police Chief Ryan Grim tells RRN News that the lack of snow and mild weather will likely bring larger crowds to the downtown area.
He says biggest rules to remember are no open intoxicants in the downtown area, except for in the Social District, and even there, none after 10 p.m. The chief says it is a family-friendly event, so there will be plenty of officers on duty, many of them on foot, to enforce those rules.
