Britt Slade has won Bay College’s quarterly TORCH Award.
She is a full-time instructor who joined Bay College in August of 2005.
She was nominated for this award by several colleagues, who say she is dedicated to the mission of Bay College.
“Britt offers advice, solace, comfort, humor, alternate viewpoints, and care to anyone who needs it, and does so selflessly. She is truly one of the most thoughtful people that I know.”
“Britt is an instructor who meets the needs of all of her students, wherever they are at in the learning process.”
“Britt is naturally a caretaker. I see this in how she interacts with other faculty, staff, and her students. She is an excellent listener and will always make time to offer advice or a moment of comfort, even if it means she must set aside her own work.”
The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment. TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to the Mission of Bay; Helpful to All
