CLICK TO HEAR JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH MARK COWMAN, DELTA COUNTY CHAMBER
This year businesses across Delta County are taking part in the Sleigh the Deals Christmas Promotion and giving local shoppers a chance to boost their holiday bankroll with an extra $1000 just for collecting their receipts and bringing them to the Delta County Chamber of Commerce.
The Sleigh the Deals event kick off coincides with Black Friday on Tuesday events taking place November 21st and the rules couldn’t be simpler. Save all your receipts from shopping locally in Delta County restaurants and businesses and bring them to the Chamber and receive a playing card for every $100 you spend locally by December 24th. Once you’ve collected all the cards you can, bring them to the Chamber by close of business on December 27th. Use the cards you’ve collected to make the best poker hand possible. The player with the best hand will walk away with $1000 in cold (It will be December after all) cash. Simple as that.
And what’s a contest without some rules? If there is a tie, the names of the top players will be entered into a drawing to determine a winner. There are no pushes in Chamber Poker. The standard rankings for poker hands apply. A receipt does not need to be $100 on its own. You can bring in ten receipts that total $100 and receive a card or bring in one $500 receipt and receive five cards. There is a limit of 50 cards per household. All poker hands must be turned into the Delta County Chamber of Commerce by 4pm on December 27th. Check the Chamber’s Facebook page for official holiday hours. Receipts must be dated between November 21st and December 24th to be eligible. Any decisions regarding the contest will be made under the discretion of the Chamber and are final.
The Chamber would like to thank the sponsors of this event. They are the Escanaba Downtown Development Authority, the Community Foundation for Delta County, the City of Gladstone, the Rapid River Business Association, the Island Resort and Casino, the Radio Results Network, Crawford Family Funeral Homes, and the Delta County Economic Development Alliance.
