Honor Credit Union celebrated the official groundbreaking of its new Marquette Member Center location.
Honor CEO Scott McFarland began with a welcome, the importance of a community that supports each other, and recognition of those in attendance. McFarland thanked several key community individuals who have made this new location possible, including representatives from Marquette Township, Jeff Goodney, and his team from Closner Construction, and Travis Hongisto from Integrated Designs.
Following the opening words from Scott was Marquette Member Center Manager, Jamie Armatti. Jamie spoke on what this new location will bring to Marquette, its credit union member-owners, and the importance of a community focus.
She stated, “The new Marquette Member Center is going to be bigger and more beautiful than we could ever have hoped for with double the space, including a new reservable community meeting space. We look forward to watching our community thrive and prosper, both now and in the years ahead when we open our doors to this new location in 2024.”
Following words from Jamie were representatives from Marquette Township, Lyn Durant, Township Supervisor, and Jon Kangas, Township Manager, who spoke on the common goal of bettering the community. Both Durant and Kangas echoed in the words and appreciation of seeing the credit union stay in Marquette, repurposing an old property, and creating a new, collaborative space for the community.
With shovels in hand, Honor CEO Scott McFarland joined several Honor Credit Union team members, Marquette Township Officials, Representatives, and community partners to make it official and break ground on the new location.
The new Marquette Member Center will be just a short drive down the road from the existing Marquette location at 105 CR 492 and is set to open in the Spring of 2024. The new location will house existing services, such as a night drop deposit box, a coin counting machine, a full-service lobby, and the addition of a reservable community space for both members and non-members and new video teller technology available in the drive-thru lanes with extended hours.
Groundbreaking ceremony attendees included Rich Rossway on behalf of Congressman Bergman, Jennifer Figler on behalf of Representative Jen Hill, representatives from Marquette Township, Lyn Durant, Jon Kangas, Ernest Johnson, and Honor’s Commercial Loan Officer KC Bjorne, Mortgage Loan Originator Adam Carpenter, VP of Member Experience Jennifer Patrick, Northern Regional Manager Jamie Gollakner, Member Service Manager Alyssa Milner, and several community partners.
