An investigation conducted by the Forsyth Township Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Marquette County man in regard of child sexual absive activities.
Brandon James Morford, formerly of Forsyth Township, was arrested on Thursday at his residence, located in the City of Marquette.
The arrest came as result of a lengthy investigation into Morford’s on-line activity involving minors. The investigation led to an apartment complex in the City of Marquette, where he is currently living.
A search warrant was executed at his residence, where investiagtors found multiple Internet-capable devices, which were seized s evidence. After a review of this case, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s office issued a six-count fellony for Morfort for the following charges:
One count of child sexually abusive activity
Two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material
Two counts of possession of child sexually abusive material
One count of prostitution/engaging in the services of a minor
The Forsyth Township Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit (8th District), the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), the Marquette City and City of Green Bay Police Departments, the Detective Bureau, and the Delta County Child Advocacy Center.
The Forsyth Township Poliuce Department and Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children and family members about safe internet use. They urge parents to make use of the resources available.
