The City of Manistique announced on Wednesday that it is cancelling its biggest summer event, Folk Fest.
It had been set for July 10th and 11th.
Manistique Recreation Director Ashley Roberson-Smith says that the “potential risk of a gathering of this size poses to our residents, especially our elderly, is not one a department is willing to take”.
The city says we should think of it as a one-year postponement, promising that the event will be back in the summer of 2021. Read the press release below for details.
