Thousands of people remain without power on this Thanksgiving holiday after the snow and wind storm on Wednesday caused tens of thousands of customers ti lose power throughout the U-P.
At this point, all of the utilities in the region say their crews are working long hours to try to restore downed power lines, often having to move trees to get there, just to find broken poles blocking the way.
There is no firm timeline for restoring power to everybody, but the utilities continue to bring in crews from other areas to help their own crews.

The majority of these outages remain in Sugar Island, Whitefish, Bay Mills, Chippewa, Hulbert, Lakefield, McMillan, Pentland and Portage townships. The co-op says crews make headway on replacing poles and equipment.
