The Schoolcraft County sheriff is out with a warning to snowmobilers—pay extra attention to safety on the trails.
Sheriff Paul Furman says they’ve police ten separate snowmobile accidents since early February—and in most of them, excessive speed was a factor. They included a 55-year-old man who went through the ice and a 77-year-old man who hit a trail groomer. Furman says they’re patrolling the county’s trails to make sure everyone stays safe.
