Forsyth Township Police arrested Randy James Tuominen, 32, of Gwinn on a 3-count felony warrant.
The charges stemmed from a month-long investigation into the death of a 4-month old infant, whom Tuominen was the father of.
The incident occurred on September 29th 2018, around 10:47 p.m. in the 100 block of Constellation Street, when emergency personnel were dispatched to an unresponsive 4-month old infant. A joint investigation followed with a report being submitted to the Marquette County Prosecutor Office for review.
The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the following charges for Tuominen:
Count 1 – Homicide – Felony Murder: Felony – Life offense without parole
Count 2 – Child Abuse – First Degree: Felony – Life or any term of years
Count 3 – Child Abuse – First Degree: Felony – Life or any term of years
Tuominen was located at his parents’ home in Ely Township yesterday evening and was lodged at the Marquette County Jail without incident. Bond is to be set at arraignment. Agencies assisting in the investigation were the Department of Human Services Child Protection division and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
