Republicans rallied in Escanaba Friday morning as Election Day approaches.
Gubernatorial nominee Bill Schuette and his running mate, Lisa Posthumus-Lyons, met with supporters at the Delta County Republican Party headquarters in downtown Escanaba. They were joined by state representative Beau LaFave (R-Iron Mountain) and state senate candidate Ed McBroom (R-Norway) at a “Go Get Out the Vote” event.
Schuette was upbeat in an interview with the Radio Results Network.
“We’re going to win,” he said, suggesting that polls showing him trailing Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gretchen Whitmer are tightening.
Other GOP events were scheduled for Friday afternoon in Marquette, Friday night in Houghton, and on Saturday in Iron Mountain and Ironwood.
