Nheena Ittner of Marquette is the director of the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum in Marquette and previously worked as a high school art teacher. She is secretary of the Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation, past president and board member of the Marquette Economic Club and past chair of the Michigan Museums Association Board.
She was previously appointed to the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs by former Gov. Granholm, serving from 2005-2013. Ittner holds a bachelor’s degree in arts education from the University of Michigan and will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Christian Gaines. Ittner will serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring Sept. 1, 2020.
Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
