The Marquette Area Public Schools Education Foundation (MAPSEF) held the drawing for the first ever ‘Impact-A-Life’ raffle on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the MSHS Homecoming Rally.
Connie Hagle was the $300 ticket winner and MAHS junior Jasmine Huotari-Wolf will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship upon her expected 2020 graduation.
Houtari-Wolf was presented with the news in a surprise assembly on Friday in front of the entire MAHS student body and staff.
MAPSEF provides scholarships to Marquette Area Public School graduates and to teacher projects providing enhanced education. Monies for the “Impact-A-Life” Scholarship were raised through sales of $5 raffle tickets. Judy Vonck, MAPSEF Development Chair, says, “We would like to thank the Marquette community, especially the parents of Marquette high school students for embracing our first scholarship raffle. Working together we can give our students the leg-up they need to reach their future goals.”
Last year MAPSEF gave $150,000 in scholarships to 118 graduating seniors. If you are interested in creating a scholarship in the name of your business or a loved one, or to make a one-time donation, please call the MAPSEF office at 225-5324 or visit http://mapseducationfoundation.weebly.com/
