Bay College will conduct a Voter Registration Drive and Political Campaign Fair as part of their annual Constitution Day activities. Constitution Day is recognized nationally each year to signify the release of the draft of the U.S. Constitution from the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in September of 1787. The event is hosted by the State and Local Government class section being held on campus this semester.
The voter information event will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at Café Bay on the main campus in Escanaba, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Officials from the Delta County Clerk’s office and the Escanaba City Clerk’s office will be available to register first-time voters, answer questions, and confirm voter registration for all voters. Qualified citizens may also apply for an absentee ballot.
Local political parties and specific candidate campaigns will have election information available. Some area candidates themselves will be in attendance for this opportunity to meet with students, staff, and the public. Non-partisan candidates for seats on the Bay College Board of Trustees will also be attending the event. Non-partisan voter information will be available from the Delta County League of Women Voters (LWV).
