At approximately 12:30 p.m., Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to 6507 H.25 Road for a report of smoke in the basement of the residence.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the single family residence to be filled with thick heavy smoke. Officers deployed several attack lines equipped with the Compressed Air Foam (CFAS) system to the basement of the residence.
Officers were able to get the fire under control. Escanaba Public Safety remained on the scene for approximately 4 hours.
Preliminary investigation for cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature. No Injuries were sustained.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department, Rampart EMS, the Red Cross, Delta County Central Dispatch and UPPCO.
