There were eight people running for the Marquette City Commission Tuesday, with the top four advancing to November’s election.
Jenna Smith (958 votes), Jenn Hill (852 votes), Margaret Brumm (488 votes), and Mike Plourde (441 votes) had the highest vote totals, and they will battle for two available seats on November 6th.
Jeremy Ottaway (399), BrianMiller (198), Matthew Luttenberger (133), and Aaron Andres (98 votes) do not advance.
There were three county-wide millage requests on the Marquette County ballot Tuesday. All of them were renewals.
Proposal “A” allows the county to provide services to senior citizens. This passed, 84-hundred -9 “yes” to 867 “no”.
Proposal “B” continues funding Marquette County Search and Rescue. This passed, 82-hundred-77 “yes” to 985 “no”.
Proposal “C” is nearly a half-mill to run the county’s 911 system. This passed, 85-hundred-3 “yes” to 801 “no”.
There were also a number of local millage requests on the ballot throughout Marquette County.
