Fire damaged a home on Escanaba’s near north side early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, April 15, 2018, at approximately 5:02 a.m., Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to 327 North 14th Street for a structure fire. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from the back of the residence. After making an exterior and interior attack of the building, the fire was quickly brought under control.
Officers were on the scene for approximately three and a half hours putting out hot spots. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted at the scene by the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Ford River Volunteer Fire Department, the American Red Cross, DTE, Rampart, and Escanaba City Electric.
