Police shot and killed a man early Thursday morning in Marinette County, Wisconsin.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department says that the suspect had a gun at the time of the shooting and the lives of the officers involved were in danger.
It began with a call to a motel in Marinette, where police were trying to determine if it was an attempted robbery or a domestic incident. The man then ended up at a home along State Highway 64 in nearby Peshtigo. The suspect left the home there and drove away. After a short chase, the vehicle ended up in the ditch and the suspect got out, armed with a handgun.
The suspect was shot by officers and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither the two City of Marinette Police Officers, nor the two sheriff’s deputies involved, were injured in the incident.
