An Iron Mountain woman got an unwanted surprise when she returned home Monday night after being gone for an extended period of time.
Iron Mountain Police say the woman found that two people had been using her home as a meth lab.
Officers got the call at 10:48 p.m. Monday night from the resident after she found two people in her home at 116 West “D” Street. A woman was inside this woman’s home at this time, and a man had apparently also been there but had fled before police got there.
After an investigation, officers determined the home was being used to produce methamphetamine. UPSET detectives were called in to clean up the meth lab. Also assisting on scene was the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department.
All responders cleared the scene at approximately 2:30 Tuesday morning.
A formal report will be submitted to the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s office for review.
