In holding with a long standing tradition, Governor Rick Snyder will be joining residents and visitors at the UP State Fair for the annual Delta Chambers Member’s Lunch with the Governor on Thursday of Fair Week.
This annual event takes place at the fairgrounds each year and offers the opportunity for the community to meet the Governor and get his input on issues that affect Delta County, the UP and the State of Michigan.
While in the Upper Peninsula, Gov. Snyder will have the opportunity to visit several other communities, meet with their leaders and hear messages regarding the issues facing their community and the UP.
“This annual visit is important for Governor Snyder and for the Upper Peninsula.” Said Vickie Micheau, Executive Director of the Delta County Commerce Center and U.P. State Fair management team. “This visit to the UP State Fair gives him the opportunity to see all the good things that are happening here and hear about many of the important plans that are in the works.”
The UP State Fair has been and independent fair, governed by a separate board for the last eight years. 15 counties and the Hannahville Indian Community make up the board which has been instrumental in keeping the UP State Fair alive and healthy.
Lunch with the Governor, featuring signature menu items provided by Chamber member restaurants, takes place during the fair on Thursday, August 17th, in the Activities Ten. The $20 fee includes lunch and gate admission. RSVP must be made in advance to 906-786-2192.
