The Negaunee City Council last night decided to place the renewal of two expiring millages on the November 7th ballot, according to Local Three News.
Voters will decide whether or not to extend 1.5 mills for capital equipment for five years. That millage would benefit police, fire and public works. They’ll also be asked to extend the 1 mill for parks and recreation for 20 years.
Negaunee City Manager Don Gladwell says the renewals will allow them to buy equipment that—in his words—is “desperately needed.”
